One Scoop Or Two....

One Scoop Or Two....

Who would have thought last week the sun was cracking the flags and the temperature here in England was hotter than some sub-tropical climates!! Well I refuse YES REFUSE to believe that our summer is over, so to cheer myself up, I have decided to write a post about my favourite summer trend...PASTELS!! surely this will make us feel more summery?? what you guys think?

So for those who do want to indulge in one of the summers biggest trends but aren't ready for poppy brights or Aztec trends which are currently doing the rounds on the high street
then this new seasons palette will be perfect for you!! This summers cool ice cream shades come in pastel hues of pink, blue and yellow. Washing over every item imaginable from romantic dresses, to the tiniest of shorts, headbands and bags, the candy sweet colours have never looked so good!

Mix and Match the colours but beware...try and stay clear of matching the same pastel trend or a feat similar to the double denim disaster will occur. The lemon blazer I have chosen as part of my look, takes a relaxed look on tailoring this summer, and it pulls outfits nicely together without appearing to formal or over done...you can transition this blazer from wearing flats throughout the day for a casual look, or team with a pair of skyscraper courts or peep toes, and an over sized clutch for the evening look! Its very versatile which is good!!

As I am blessed to have a natural glow 12 months of the year (cough, cough) word of advise for the paler folk..maybe chose one look from the trend, whether its a pair of spray on skinnies, or a floaty chiffon shirt will keep lighter shades away from the face and prevent you from looking washed out....ease yourself into the trend with choice accessories and go from there really.

If pastel clothing is not for you...try painting your nails different shades!! its a quick easy way to be on trend!! I love the Barry M nail collection in Blue Moon (np317) Peach Melba (np318) Berry Ice Cream (np308) and Lemon Ice Cream (np307)

Similarly, as we wouldn't indulge in a 99' flake in the bleak winter months, this is one trend that will sadly disappear (hopefully not as fast as our British summer!). So pick a colour or two or even three and make the most of these jolly shades before they curdle.....
